The Roswell “UFO” – No Aliens, but Plenty of Top Secret Experiments of Ours

If you have followed my research into the field of the Roswell, New Mexico “UFO crash” of 1947, you will know that I gave up a long time ago on the  possibility that aliens crashed on the Foster Ranch in Lincoln County. In my first book on Roswell – Body Snatchers in the Desert – I wrote, in 2005: “‘RAAF captures flying saucer on ranch in Roswell region.’ Ever since this provocative headline appeared on July 8, 1947, conspiracy theorists have sincerely believed that the U.S. government has maintained an extensive operation of cover-up-and-denial regarding its knowledge of alien life. But there was, in fact, no UFO crash with dead alien bodies. What really happened on that fateful day is much more sinister. The persistent rumors surrounding the UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico, are part of a bigger conspiracy – one orchestrated and fostered by the government itself as a smokescreen to bury a truth that is much darker, and disturbingly, far more believable.”

And, in my follow-up book, 2017’s The Roswell UFO Conspiracy, I wrote: “Those bodies – the Roswell bodies – they weren’t aliens. One survived the crash. A very highly classified experiment of the Army or Navy. The planned use of propaganda. In early July 1947, something crashed outside of Roswell, New Mexico. It was not an alien spaceship, as so many believe. Rather, it was one of a handful of definitively military vehicles that were secretly test-flown in various parts of the Land of Enchantment. All of the flights ended in disaster, and particularly so for the people who were on-board the craft. Cover-stories concerning wrecked flying saucers and dead aliens were carefully created. The stories were then spread by those tasked with hiding the dark truth. The far more disturbing picture of what really happened near Roswell was cloaked for years. In fact, for decades. Until now…”

One of those I often debated with, when it came to Roswell, was the late Stan Friedman. Stan had no time for the idea that Roswell was a top secret, military experiment – rather than the crash of a spacecraft from another world. Stan’s stance was that an alien spacecraft had fallen to the ground while checking out our growing technology in early July 1947. There’s no doubt that in the post-Second War there was a lot of strange and secret activity going around. A lot of secret facilities had been built, too. The Los Alamos atomic facility and the White Sands Proving Ground. There was also Fort Stanton. It was a military facility that held Japanese people in the Second World War. And, after the war was over, handicapped people were held there, among others. The issue of Japanese and handicapped people runs through both my books. Not only that…Fort Stanton is in the very same county as the Foster Ranch where the whatever-it-was crashed to Earth. Also, we should not forget one of the most controversial and disturbing post-Second World War top secret operations. It was called “Paperclip” and was designed to bring Nazi scum to the United States and to have them secretly work for the States. Now, things get even more controversial.

Dozens of handicapped people – some of them having various forms of dwarfism – were transferred from Fort Stanton to the Oak Ridge, Tennessee, atomic facility – and hardly anytime after the Roswell event took place. It’s worth noting the contents of the November 3, 1947 edition of the Biology Division Bulletin of Oak Ridge’s Clinton National Laboratory. It contains a paper titled “Current Journal Articles of Interest in the Biology Library.” One of those same articles was focused on research into children with thyroid-based disorders. It was written by Edith H. Quimby and Donovan McCune, M.D., in August 1947. The article, along with other documents from Oak Ridge, reveals that staff at the facility had undertaken research on “…fifty-four test subjects.” Those same “test subjects” were comprised of “…fifteen [who] were between one and four years of age; 7 were controls; 2 were classic cretins; 1 showed some features of hypothyroidism which were not modified by treatment; 2 were dwarfs; in 1 the diagnosis was ‘gargoylism;’ 1 was suspected of Progeria, a disorder associated with some of the features of hypothyroidism; and the last exhibited features of moderate sexual precocity. Twenty-seven were more than four but less than fifteen years of age. Of these 2 had unmistakable hypothyroidism, 2 Graves disease, four were dwarfs.”

This is, of course, decidedly interesting. Barely a month after Roswell, people displaying evidence of both dwarfism and Progeria (the latter being a condition resulting in…a small stature, a lack of body hair, and an over-sized head) were taken to Oak Ridge; specifically to personnel at the Biology Division who were expressing “interest” in their conditions. I shared all of this information with Stan. He was having none of it. Too bad. There’s no doubt that the real story of Roswell is growing and growing. And it has zero to do with aliens – and everything to do with terrible, terrestrial experiments hidden under a banner of  fabricated extraterrestrial tales.
